Located in a central building within Riverside Plaza since May of 2012, the Safety Center has provided a space for members of the Cedar Riverside community to come together with law enforcement officials, crime prevention specialists, and cultural liaisons to improve community safety.

During the monthly Cedar Riverside Neighborhood Revitalization Program Safety Committee meetings held in the Safety Center, individuals involved with the neighborhood and community receive updates related to safety concerns. From there, the committee cultivates crime prevention strategies and methods of implementation. The committee also strategizes long-term next steps and community outreach and engagement activities to promote safety in the Cedar Riverside neighborhood.

The Cedar Riverside Safety Center celebrated a successful National Night Out 2016 with lots of neighborhood residents, the Minneapolis Police Department, Sherman Associates, and WCCO radio.
